So, the Thai’s behavior to the Preah Vihear issue is 100% wrong.

Cambodian Premier Meets Japanese Veteran Diplomat

Phnom Penh, March 9, 2011 AKP – Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen met here on March 8 with Mr. Yukio Imagawa, governing council member for foreign affairs of Japan Young Human.

Mr. Yukio Imagawa, also a Japanese veteran diplomat to Cambodia in the 60’s and the 90’s made some comments on Khmer Preah Vihear Temple, saying that Thai behavior to Preah Vihear issue was wrong at 100 %, Ieng Sophalet, an assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters following the meeting.

Mr. Yukio Imagawa recalled Preah Vihear in 1962 when he held an office as a third secretary of Japanese embassy in Cambodia and he knew that the international court of Justice in The Hague ruled that the temple belongs to Cambodia and the Cambodians were then very happy.

Also, Thai authorities did not object to the international court’s verdict, it means that Thailand recognized it, he said.

But it was over 40 years ago and what Thailand has done over the temple issue was not acceptable, he said, because in the international court there was a Japanese judge participating in the court decision that the temple and its surrounding area belong to Cambodian territory.

As a non-governmental organization, he said, his organization helped build school buildings and promote art, music, culture, well-being and hygiene in Nepal and Laos, mainly Cambodia.

The purpose of his organization is to promote the security and peace in Cambodia and Japan, and the region and the world as well, he said.

In Cambodia, he said, his organization disseminated information about hygienic matter and distributed booklets relating to hygiene, notably helping Cambodia, Japan, as well as the region and the world.

In reply, the Cambodia premier appreciated Mr. Yukio Imagawa for understanding Cambodia’s geographic situation, mainly helping education, culture, well-being, and hygiene, as well as the provision of 266 school-buildings as a main key to grant the training to Cambodian resources.–AKP
