Heroux-Devtek Q4 profit up 75 percent, shares rise

(Reuters) - Aerospace and industrial products maker Heroux-Devtek Inc (HRX.TO) posted a higher quarterly profit, helped by an increase in its aerospace segment sales, sending its shares up 9 percent.

Net income for the fourth quarter rose to C$7.7 million, or 25 Canadian cents per share, compared with C$4.4 million, or 14 Canadian cents per share, a year earlier.

Sales rose nearly a quarter to C$106 million. Aerospace sales rose 25.7 percent to C$99.5 million, while sales from its industrial segment grew 11.2 percent to $6.5 million.

The company had signed a seven-year contract earlier this year with civil aircraft maker Bombardier Inc (BBDb.TO) to assemble and deliver structural parts like wing spars, wing ribs and fuselage frames.

Shares of the company were trading at C$9.12 on Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
