Nights Out In Beijing

Having experienced various cities’ nightlife’s throughout the world. Without a doubt Beijing is one of the places that will be imprinted in my memory for the rest of my life. Whilst on our China Tours you should give yourself a break from the sight-seeing, get out of your China Hotels and experience what Beijing has to offer after dark.

The main area can be found in Sanlintum near the Workers Stadium where there are enough unique bars and clubs that everyone should experience this area at least once in their lifetime. From Vics to Club LA, they have all types of music to suit everyone’s’ mood. Whether you desire R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, Electro, Dance or just the current Top 40, it can be found here.

The people are friendly and looking for a good time, the alcohol is cheap (only 10 RMB for a beer) and nearly every club has free entry. And if it doesn’t you can still negotiate the price down to less than the asked for price. And for the ladies, free entry! I would recommend starting in the bars before moving to the clubs to receive all that Beijing has to offer.

For those who cannot speak any Mandarin there is no need to despair as the bartenders can generally understand you no matter what condition you are in. For those though who are worried about the language barrier Vics would be the place to start as there is a strong contingent of Europeans who frequent the club on a regular basis. And for those who are looking for more than a good night, well you‘re in luck as the clubs get very cosy, increasing the chance of you bumping into that special person.

For those though who are not hard clubbers, Beijing has a variety of quiet bars such as Bed Bar and d.lounge, they are away from the noise and bustle of the clubs and livelier where you can relax and unwind from a long day of sight-seeing with a refreshing drink.

Or if live music is your scene then a trip to the Gulou area is a must. Local talent can be found here every night of the week jamming away on their guitars, drumming away and blasting out incredible sets. Two venues that are a must visit are Yugong Yishan for the break dancing and DJ battles that can be seen here on various nights of the week, and 2 Kolegas for its indie rock and atmosphere . 2 Kolegas is correctly named as “Beijing’s hottest dive bar and Live Music Venue”. There is an amazing atmosphere and often there will be impromptu jamming sessions going on making each visit to 2 Kolegas unique to you.
